About Facility Graphic Solutions
Facility Graphic Solutions (FGS), has been working with manufacturers for over 15 years to design and install visuals for safety, compliance, and lean initiatives. Most of our consulting is based on custom design specifications and site-specific environmental needs.
Many ideas have been borrowed from the power industry and DoD, who have a history of writing labeling standards and studying their effects. One study shows that over half of the errors in plants are the result of missing or inadequate labeling (NP-6209, "Effective Plant Labeling," Electric Power Research Institute).
From our location in Mequon, WI, FGS contracts with companies throughout North America: Quad/Graphics, Coca Cola Bottling, Packaging Corporation of America, Kikkoman, Sargento, Johnsonville and other food & beverage, pulp & paper, printing, and chemical plants.
We strive to develop standards for labeling and color-coding that ensure consistent approaches at a company's various manufacturing locations. To that end, we participate in committees, among them ANSI, CEMA and are well-versed in OSHA requirements for color coding, marking, labeling, and signage.

Custom Boards
FGS designs and provides custom boards for plant layouts, maps, shadow boards, key performance measurements and more. Boards start with rough sketches with details and result in wall-mounted or mobile boards that provide the information needed. Printing is subsurface so graphics are protected from moisture, chemicals and abrasion. Surfaces can be write-on or magnetic. Typically, board sizes are large and single boards can be as large as 4’ high x 8’ wide. Larger two-part boards are possible. Tool shadow boards can be printed and we just need outlined shadows of the tools and items. Foam inserts for tools in drawers are also possible.
